We just relesed Demo of our Retro Dungeon Crawler RPG game, Verho!
Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3110460/Verho_Demo/
Verho is a dark RPG inspired by classics like King’s Field, Shadow Tower, and the fresh adaptation of these games, Lunacid.
Games try to stay loyal to classic fans while also making some small adjustments for the newer fans. Also, some people call this game FPS Souls-like and that is partially true, however game takes much more focus on exploration and secrets compared to the souls series.

2024.10.31 19:14 giantspeck The NHC is monitoring a non-tropical low over the northeastern Atlantic for potential subtropical or tropical transition

Latest outlook

Last updated: Thursday, 31 October — 5:00 PM Azores Time (AST; 18:00 UTC)
Discussion by Dr. Jack Beven — NHC Hurricane Specialist Unit
A trough of low pressure near Puerto Rico is producing widespread cloudiness and showers over the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the northern Leeward Islands, and the adjacent waters of the Atlantic and the northeastern Caribbean. Slow development of this system is possible during the next 2-3 days as it moves west-northwestward near the Greater Antilles.
After that time, this system is expected to be absorbed into the low pressure area over the Caribbean. Regardless of development, locally heavy rains are possible during the next several days from the northern Leeward Islands westward across Puerto Rico and Hispaniola to eastern Cuba and the southeastern Bahamas.

2024.10.31 19:06 Jolly-Personality-82 shrek 5 battle of ages

#copyryght chat gpt 4.00 help with history
Chapter 1: A Quiet Day in the Swamp
[Scene: Inside Shrek and Fiona's home]
The camera opens on Shrek's cozy home, where Fiona can be seen preparing breakfast. The aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air. Shrek is sitting at the table, his expression content as he watches his wife.
SHREK (chewing a piece of bread) This is the best thing I've had in a long time. How do you always manage to make everything taste so good, Fiona?
FIONA (with a smile)It's easy when you have the right ingredients. Besides, a good chef needs a good ogre by his side to test his creations.
SHREK (laughs) I guess that means I'm the official food critic of the house. I like the title!
[Scene: The children run in]
Felicia, Argus and Gustav enter the dining room, laughing and playing with each other. They throw pillows at each other and fill the room with joy.
FELICIA (shouting) Dad! Look what I can do!
Felicia does a flip and falls down, laughing. Shrek laughs as he stands up to applaud her.
SHREK (imitates announcer voice)And here we have the champion of stunts, Felicia, the flying ogre!
ARGUS (with a mischievous child's face) I can do better!
Argus tries to imitate his sister, but trips and falls to the ground. Everyone laughs.
SHREK (mocking) Looks like we've found the new king of falls!
[Scene: A more serious moment]
The laughter subsides for a moment as Fiona looks out the window. She sees the swamp bathed in sunlight, but she also notices the dark clouds gathering in the distance.
FIONA (worried) Hey, Shrek, have you noticed those clouds on the horizon? They don't look very good...
SHREK (disdainfully) Clouds? Bah, I don't care about the weather. I just want to enjoy a nice day with my family!
[Scene: Moments of tenderness]
Fiona smiles, grateful for Shrek's optimistic attitude. She walks over and gives him a kiss on the cheek.
FIONA (sweetly) You're right. How about we have a picnic in the swamp today? Just us and our little ogres.
SHREK (excitedly) That sounds perfect! Just like the old days, before we had to worry about being kings, or having villains from another world showing up.
[Scene: Picnic preparations]
The family begins to prepare their picnic. Shrek lays out a blanket on the ground, while Fiona and the kids fill a basket with snacks. Shrek looks at his family and feels a deep sense of happiness.
FELICIA (excitedly) Let's eat and play in the mud!
ARGUS (eagerly) Yes! I love playing in the mud!
[Scene: Picnic Day]
The family sits on the blanket, enjoying their meal and playing. Shrek and Fiona laugh as they watch their children roll around in the mud, feeling happy and carefree.
FIONA (looking at Shrek)These are the moments that are worth it, don't you think?
SHREK (nodding) Yeah, honey. It doesn't get any better than this.
[Scene: Clouds are gathering]
Suddenly, the wind starts to blow and the clouds grow darker. Shrek stops and looks towards the horizon.
SHREK (seriously)Fiona, I feel like something's coming. Like fate is calling.
FIONA (worried)Do you think we should be worried?
SHREK (determined) I don't know, but whatever it is, I'll face whatever comes. I won't let anything ruin our happiness.
[Final scene of the chapter]
The camera zooms out, showing Shrek, Fiona and their children laughing and enjoying the moment, as dark clouds loom over them, foreshadowing changes in their peaceful world.
Chapter 2: In Search of Rats
[Scene: Outside Shrek and Fiona's home]
The sun shines on the swamp as Shrek finishes his family picnic. The children play in the mud, and Fiona approaches her husband, with a playful smile.
FIONA (laughing) Shrek! I need you to bring me some forest rats. They've been eating the carrots in the garden!
SHREK (frowning) Rats? Why don't you send one of the kids? They could do a good job!
FIONA (joking) Because I don't want my kids to become rat-catchers. Besides, you're the best ogre I know at that!
Shrek sighs, resigning himself to his task.
SHREK (mumbling)Sometimes I think rats are smarter than some of my friends. But all right, I'll go. Just make sure you have the carrots ready when I get back.
[Scene: Shrek enters the forest]
Shrek walks through the forest, which is full of shadows and whispers. Birds can be heard chirping in the distance, but the atmosphere feels strange. After a few minutes, he finds a group of rats scurrying through the bushes.
SHREK (shouting) Hey! Rats! Come here!
The rats, hearing his voice, start running in different directions. Shrek rushes after them, trying to catch them.
[Scene: The pedestal in the clearing]
After a while of chasing rats, Shrek heads deeper into the forest. Suddenly, he comes upon a clearing where an ancient pedestal covered in moss and vines stands. Intrigued, he approaches it.
SHREK (muttering) What the hell is this? I don't remember seeing this before.
The pedestal is adorned with strange inscriptions and a faint glow emanates from its surface. Shrek touches the pedestal and feels a strange energy coursing through his body.
SHREK (surprised) Whoa ! This is... weird.
[Scene: Visions and Whispers]
As Shrek touches the pedestal, he begins to have flashbacks of his life: moments with Fiona, his children, and a dark future in which he is not the king. Whispers echo through his mind.
MYSTERIOUS VOICE (in whispers)The king must be reborn. Destiny awaits.
Shrek feels overwhelmed, but a part of him is curious.
SHREK (thinking out loud) What does this mean? A king? I'm just an ogre!
[Scene: Noises in the forest]
Suddenly, he hears noises around him. The rats he was chasing appear again, but this time, they seem to be organizing themselves, as if they were part of something bigger. Shrek watches in surprise.
SHREK (sarcastic) Great, now I've got rats at a convention. What's next, a fan club?
[Scene: Shrek's Choice]
Confused but intrigued, Shrek is drawn to the pedestal. He decides he must return home and talk to Fiona about what he has found.
SHREK (to himself)First, I'll get the rats. Then, I'll tell Fiona. Maybe there's more to this than meets the eye.
Shrek begins to collect some rats, who still seem confused by his presence.
[Final scene of the chapter]
As Shrek heads back home, the pedestal glows faintly behind him, as if awaiting his return. The camera zooms out, showing the forest filled with mysteries and secrets to uncover.
Chapter 3: A Meeting in the Village
[Scene: Walking to the village]
After an adventure in the forest and with the rats in his arms, Shrek heads to the nearby village. The breeze is cool, and the sunlight illuminates the path. As he approaches, he can hear laughter and voices of the villagers gathered in the square.
[Scene: The entrance to the village]
Upon arriving at the village, Shrek notices that the villagers are organizing a small festival. There are colorful decorations, tables full of food, and lively music in the air. As he walks along, the villagers stop and greet him enthusiastically.
VILLAGER 1 (shouting with joy) Shrek! The great ogre has arrived!
VILLAGER 2 (laughing) We've been waiting for you! Come, come! Join the celebration!
Shrek smiles, though a little uncomfortable with the attention. He's always been an ogre who preferred solitude, but he finds the warmth of the village comforting.
SHREK (with a sheepish smile) Thanks, folks. I just came to pick up some rats for Fiona.
[Scene: The peasants surround Shrek]
Villagers flock to him, eager to share stories and ask him for favors. A little boy approaches, looking at him in admiration.
BOY (with shining eyes) Shrek! Can you teach me to be strong like you?
SHREK (joking) Sure, but first you'll have to eat more vegetables. No sweets!
[Scene: Laughter and fun]
The peasants laugh and nod, while others begin to tell anecdotes about their previous encounters with Shrek.
VILLAGER (laughing) I remember when you helped defeat Lord Farquaad . You saved us all!
SHREK (with a wink)And I did it without needing a princess costume.
The villagers laugh, remembering those heroic moments, and Shrek feels more comfortable among them.
[Scene: The celebration continues]
A group of musicians begins to play a festive tune, and some of the villagers start dancing. Shrek watches with a mix of amusement and confusion, wondering what it feels like to be part of a celebration.
SHREK (mumbling)I never thought being an ogre would include this.
[Scene: An unexpected turn]
Suddenly, a villager approaches Shrek with a serious face.
VILLAGER 3 (concerned)Shrek, we've been hearing rumors of strange things happening in the woods. People disappearing, shadows lurking around. Have you encountered anything strange?
Shrek frowns, remembering the pedestal and the mysterious voice he heard.
SHREK (thoughtfully) I'm not sure. But I found something... a strange pedestal. It may not be safe.
[Scene: Worry spreads]
The villagers look at each other, worried by the news. The festive atmosphere begins to fade.
VILLAGER 1 (scared) We can't let anything ruin our celebration! We have to do something!
SHREK (assuring) Calm down, friends. I'll investigate what's going on. I won't let anything hurt you.
[Final scene of the chapter]
Shrek looks at the peasants with determination. Although he has always been an ogre, he is also their protector. With a heart full of courage, he says goodbye to them and heads back into the forest, determined to find out what is going on.
Chapter 4: The Meeting with the Oracle
[Scene: The forest, on the way to the pedestal]
Shrek makes his way through the forest, the tall, leafy trees seeming to whisper to each other as he approaches the pedestal he had found earlier. The atmosphere is charged with a sense of anticipation, as if the forest itself knows that something important is about to happen.
[Scene: The pedestal, illuminated by the moon]
Upon reaching the pedestal, Shrek stops. The structure, made of ancient stone, emits a faint blue glow. In the center of the pedestal, there is a glowing symbol that seems to pulse with a life of its own.
SHREK (in a low voice)What is this?
Suddenly, a figure emerges from the light. An ethereal being, the Oracle, appears floating in front of him, her face serene and full of wisdom.
ORACLE (in a deep, resonant voice) Welcome, Shrek, son of earth and water. I have been awaiting your arrival.
[Scene: The revelation of the prophecy]
Shrek is shocked, but quickly regains his composure.
SHREK (confused) Are you talking to me? What is this place?
ORACLE This is a place of power, a connecting point between the destinies of all the realms. You have come to seek answers, and here you will find them.
The Oracle extends a hand, and visions begin to dance around Shrek. Images of war, ruined kingdoms, and the figure of Mortimer appear and disappear.
ORACLE (solemnly) A shadow hangs over Far Far Away. The prophecy says that only he who renounces his nature and accepts his true destiny can bring peace.
SHREK (uneasily) Give up my nature? I'm an ogre! Why would I want to be anything else?
[Scene: The Oracle's Warning]
ORACLE (whispering)The path you have chosen, the desire to remain as you are, takes you away from your true purpose. You must be king, Shrek. Not just of Far Far Away, but of all the kingdoms. The future of those you love depends on your choice.
Shrek feels overwhelmed. He remembers his ogre days, his struggles and his joys, and how he has always sought the simplicity of life in his swamp.
SHREK (in frustration) But what if I don't want to be king? I want to eat rats and wallow in the mud, not rule over a kingdom.
ORACLE (patiently)Sometimes what we want isn't what we need. Fate has strange ways of guiding us to who we really are. You have the power to unite kingdoms, Shrek. But first, you must accept it.
[Scene: Shrek's Choice]
Shrek looks at the pedestal and feels the weight of the Oracle's words. The visions continue to spin, showing him what is at stake.
SHREK (determined)If this is what I have to do to protect my family and my home, then I will do it. But I will not be an ordinary king. I will be the best king this world has ever seen.
ORACLE (with a soft smile)That's it, Shrek. Your journey has only just begun. Remember, love and friendship will guide you along the way. Seek out those who are true, and you'll never lose your way.
[Final scene of the chapter]
With a new determination in his heart, Shrek bids the Oracle farewell. As he walks away from the pedestal, he feels a strange mix of excitement and fear, but he knows he is prepared to face whatever comes next. The fight for his home has begun.
Chapter 5: A Journey to the Future
[Scene: The forest, after the meeting with the Oracle]
Shrek steps out from the pedestal with a mixture of determination and apprehension. The Oracle's words echo in his mind, and though he knows he must act, the thought of finding Rumpelstiltskin makes him hesitate.
SHREK (mumbling to himself)Looking for Rumpelstiltskin ... That's the last thing I want to do.
[Scene: Remembering the past]
Images of her past encounter with Rumpelstiltskin come flooding back to her. She remembers the chaos the little goblin caused, the hard times she went through, and how she nearly lost everything. The betrayal and pain she felt resonate loudly in her heart.
SHREK (sighing)He just wanted to make me suffer. Why would I trust him again?
[Scene: The Call of the Oracle]
However, the echo of the Oracle's voice interrupts his thoughts.
ORACLE (VO) (calm)Shrek, the future holds secrets that you need to uncover. Only Rumpelstiltskin has the power to show you what you need to know. The journey won't be easy, but it's necessary.
[Scene: The portal to the future]
With a deep breath and a determined look, Shrek prepares for the journey. He wears the necklace given to him by the Fairy Godmother, which glows brightly as it activates. A glowing portal appears before him, pulsing with magical energy.
SHREK (hesitating) I hope this is worth it...
With a leap, Shrek steps through the portal, and the world around him blurs into an explosion of light.
[Scene: The dystopian future]
desolate landscape . The lands he once knew as Far Far Away have changed drastically. The trees are withered, the buildings are in ruins, and a grey, cloudy sky looms over him.
SHREK (dejectedly) What happened here? This is worse than I imagined.
[Scene: Meeting with Rumpelstiltskin ]
After exploring for a bit, Shrek finally reaches a small fortress where Rumpelstiltskin has established his new domain. He feels a mix of fear and reluctance, but knows he has no other choice.
[Scene: The entrance of the fortress]
SHREK (shouting) Rumpelstiltskin ! Get out of there! I need to talk to you.
The door slowly opens, and Rumpelstiltskin appears, dressed in robes that denote dark power. However, his expression is more cunning than evil.
RUMPELSTILTSKIN (with a sly grin) Ah, Shrek! What a pleasant surprise! I didn't expect to see you again. Have you come to find me for another of your adventures?
[Scene: The tension in the air]
SHREK (hesitating) No, I didn't come here to find adventure. I came here because the Oracle told me I needed your help.
RUMPELSTILTSKIN (mocking) Help? How interesting! Do you realize you were a fool to trust me once?
SHREK (enraged) I have no time for your games, Rumpel ! Everyone's future is at stake!
[Scene: Rumpelstiltskin becomes serious]
RUMPELSTILTSKIN (in a more serious tone) Oh, I know. The future has changed a lot, and it's not an easy place. But before I can help you, you have to be willing to face what you did in the past.
[Scene: Shrek's Resistance]
SHREK (with resignation)I don't want to remember what happened again. I just need answers.
RUMPELSTILTSKIN (thoughtfully) Very well. But first, you'll have to make a little deal with me. After all, there's always a price.
[Final scene of the chapter]
Shrek feels a pang of worry, knowing that trusting Rumpelstiltskin might be a mistake. However, he also understands that he has no other choice. With the fate of those he loves at stake, he is willing to take the risk once more, even if his heart is filled with doubt.
Scene: In Shrek's swamp, while Rumpelstiltskin and Shrek discuss the contract.
Shrek is looking suspiciously at Rumpelstiltskin , who is rubbing his hands together with a sly smile.
Rumpelstiltskin : Oh, dear Shrek! I'm very excited about this collaboration. But before we can make the deal, there are a couple of conditions I need you to meet.
Shrek: What kind of conditions? I'm not going to let you do that again.
Rumpelstiltskin : He laughs nervously. No, no, nothing of the sort. I just need you to offer me a position as a lawyer in Far Far Away. Imagine! The most cunning and charming lawyer in the kingdom!
Shrek frowns, feeling increasingly uncomfortable with the idea.
Shrek: A lawyer? Why would you want that?
Rumpelstiltskin : He leans forward, his eyes shining with excitement. Because he could be the best in this field! And then there's one more little detail...
Shrek: Sigh. Tell me what it is.
Rumpelstiltskin : I want a gingerbread man, but not a living gingerbread man. No, no, that would be a disaster. I want one that isn't alive, so I can collect it without it trying to run or scream.
Suddenly, Rumpelstiltskin stops and looks around, as if listening to something.
Rumpelstiltskin : In a nervous tone. I don't want you to think I'm talking about a real gingerbread man... No! No, please! Just an inanimate doll, a collectible.
Shrek: With a sarcastic smile. Oh, right! You wouldn't want one of those gingers chasing you.
Rumpelstiltskin turns white and takes a step back, as if he had just seen a ghost.
Rumpelstiltskin : Yes, exactly! Those are scary! No, I just want something nice and sweet that I can look at without fear.
Shrek laughs, enjoying the moment.
Shrek: Well, that sounds... easy. But make sure there are no tricks. I don't want to see a gingerbread man running around here!
Rumpelstiltskin : He laughs nervously, trying to hide his own fear. Of course, dear Shrek. Just a simple gingerbread man!
They look at each other and smile, although Shrek still feels that there is something more at play with Rumpelstiltskin .
Chapter 4: A Journey to the Future
Shrek, wearing the magical necklace provided by Rumpelstiltskin , closes his eyes as he prepares for the journey. A flash of light envelops him, and in the blink of an eye, he finds himself standing in the same place as before, but everything has changed.
Opening his eyes, Shrek looks around, feeling disoriented. The swamp looks different: the vegetation has grown thicker and more lush, and the air is filled with a strange, unfamiliar scent. The sounds of the swamp are more vibrant, as if life has re-emerged in a new form.
Shrek: Looking around in amazement. What the...? This is my swamp! But... it can't be. Has it been 15 years already?
Shrek approaches a lake he once knew well. He sees his reflection and realizes that he is still the same as before. However, he feels a mixture of nostalgia and concern for what has happened to his home while he was away.
Suddenly, he hears a noise behind him. He turns around quickly, and to his surprise, he sees a group of swamp creatures that seem friendly, but look stronger and tougher than before. He recognizes some of them: they are his old friends.
Shrek: With a smile at the sight. Guys! It's me, Shrek!
The excited creatures rush towards him, but their excitement turns to confusion when they see the different appearance of their home. The Big Bad Wolf, who has now grown much stronger and more fearsome, approaches Shrek with a friendly smile but an air of seriousness.
Big Bad Wolf: Shrek! I can't believe you're back! This place has changed, but it's still our home.
Shrek: Looking around, still stunned. Yes, but... what happened here? Why does everything look so... different?
Big Bad Wolf: We've been facing a lot of challenges since you left. Mortimer's been wreaking havoc, and we've all had to band together to survive.
Shrek feels a chill run down his spine at the mention of Mortimer's name, remembering the Oracle's warnings about the impending threat he posed.
Shrek: With concern. Mortimer... that doesn't sound right. I need to know more.
The Big Bad Wolf nods and begins to tell Shrek about the events that have occurred over the past 15 years, how the swamp has been kept safe, but not without losing many friends and facing countless dangers. As they talk, the sky suddenly darkens, as if heralding the arrival of a storm.
Big Bad Wolf: We must prepare ourselves, Shrek. The battle is not over.
With determination, Shrek realizes he must act quickly to protect what he loves, knowing that his destiny is intertwined with the future of his home.
Shrek: With a sparkle in his eyes. So, let's fight!
They both prepare to gather their friends and face the new threat looming over the swamp. The journey to the future has begun, but the real battle is just beginning.
Chapter 5: The Island of Lost Souls
After his emotional encounter with the Big Bad Wolf, Shrek feels more determined than ever to regain what he's lost. However, he knows he needs more help if he's going to face Mortimer. At that moment, he feels a magical presence envelop him. A flash of light appears before him and the Oracle appears, her ethereal figure illuminated by a divine glow.
Oracle: Deep, resonant voice. Shrek, you've come a long way, but you still have one crucial step left. You must revive the Fairy Godmother.
Shrek: Shocked. Reviving the Fairy Godmother? Are you sure? That woman has made my life miserable!
Oracle: She nods solemnly. I know, but her magic is needed to face Mortimer. She has the knowledge and power that can turn the tide of this battle. You must go to the Isle of Lost Souls, where the souls of those who have fallen gather.
Shrek scratches his head, doubting the proposal.
Shrek: Skepticism. And how am I supposed to do that? I have no idea where that island is.
Oracle: Pointing to an ancient map that appears floating in the air. This map will guide you. But be careful; the island is protected by guardians and trials that will test your courage. You must be brave and, above all, be ready to face your past.
Shrek takes the map, feeling the weight of the task ahead. He looks around, feeling the love and protection of the swamp, and nods with determination.
Shrek: Firmly. Okay, I'll do it. But if I revive Fairy Godmother, I promise she won't make my life miserable again.
Oracle: Smile lightly. The future is uncertain, but love and sacrifice can change it. Remember, Shrek, it's your heart that really matters.
Shrek bids the Oracle farewell and prepares for his journey. With map in hand, he sets off for the Island of Lost Souls, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement for what lies ahead.
After some time of traveling, Shrek finally reaches the shore of the island. Mist shrouds the place, and an air of mystery surrounds it. On the horizon, he can see shadowy figures moving in the mist. As he moves forward, the island's guardians appear: ghostly beings that protect the passage.
Guardian 1: With a spectral voice. Who dares to enter the Island of Lost Souls?
Shrek: In a firm but slightly fearful voice. I am Shrek, and I have come to revive the Fairy Godmother.
The guards exchange glances and begin to laugh mockingly.
Guardian 2: Laughing. Reviving the Fairy Godmother? How fun! Why should we let you through?
Shrek: With confidence. Because I have to face Mortimer, and his magic is necessary. If you don't let me through, you'll have to deal with me.
The guards look at each other, and finally, one of them speaks in a deep voice.
Guardian 1: Seriously. Okay, but before you continue, you must pass three trials that will test your courage and determination.
Shrek nods, ready for whatever comes, knowing he must do it for the sake of the swamp and everyone he loves.
Shrek: With determination. I'm ready! Give me the tests I need to face!
The Guardians lead him to a clearing, where the trials begin, each more challenging than the last. Shrek must confront his fears and his own history as he fights for the chance to bring back the Fairy Godmother and save his home.
Chapter 6: Rebirth and Revelations
Shrek makes his way through the Island of Lost Souls, feeling the weight of the mission he has been given. After overcoming the tests imposed by the guardians, he reaches an ancient altar. In the center, a crystal shines with a mystical light. Shrek, his heart pounding, places his hands on the crystal and pronounces the words that the Oracle had told him.
Shrek: With a firm voice. By the power of life and magic, I ask that the Fairy Godmother return.
A flash of light envelops the altar and, after a few tense moments, the Fairy Godmother appears, surrounded by a glowing aura. At first, her expression is one of surprise, but it quickly turns to hostility.
Fairy Godmother: Angry. Shrek? Is that you?! What gives you the right to disturb my eternal rest?
Shrek: Raising his hands in a sign of peace. Wait! I'm not here to fight. I've come to ask for your help. The world is in danger and I need your magic.
The Fairy Godmother, still distrustful, crosses her arms.
Fairy Godmother: Disdainfully. Help you? Why would I want to do that? Your life is a joke, and always has been.
Shrek, sensing the tension, decides to appeal to their shared memories.
Shrek: Honestly. I know, but things have changed. Mortimer has plunged Far Far Away into darkness. The peace and happiness we once knew is at stake. Fiona and I have sacrificed so much to protect this place!
The Fairy Godmother stares at him, doubt beginning to creep across her face.
Fairy Godmother: Intrigued but skeptical. What makes you think I could trust you?
Shrek, his voice sincere, takes a deep breath before continuing.
Shrek: With determination. Because the Oracle has revealed to me a prophecy that says I am destined to be king, not only of Far Far Away, but of all kingdoms.
The Fairy Godmother blinks, remembering her own knowledge of the prophecy.
Fairy Godmother: With a slight hesitation. The prophecy? But… you? It can’t be…
Shrek: Nodding. You always thought I was just an ogre, but I've learned there's more to me. I don't want to be a king like you imagined. I want to be a king who defends his people, who unites them instead of dividing them.
Finally, the Fairy Godmother is touched by Shrek's sincerity. She sighs, feeling the weight of her past actions.
Fairy Godmother: With a touch of sadness. Perhaps I underestimated you. But there is a price I must pay for returning, even to help.
With a gesture, the Fairy Godmother makes a sparkling necklace appear in her hand. The necklace glows with magical energy.
Fairy Godmother: Handing over the necklace. Take this. This necklace will allow you to transform from ogre to human and vice versa at will. It is a powerful tool, but you must use it responsibly.
Shrek takes the necklace, feeling its magic vibrate in his hands.
Shrek: With gratitude. Thank you. This will help me face Mortimer.
The Fairy Godmother looks at him with a new perspective, recognizing the sacrifice he has made.
Fairy Godmother: Honestly. I must confess that I always knew of your destiny, Shrek. I wanted to test you, and maybe, just maybe, I wanted you to become the king this world needs.
Shrek is feeling a mix of emotions. Although the Fairy Godmother's past was dark, at this moment, he sees a spark of redemption in her.
Shrek: With a smile. It's never too late to change, right?
The Fairy Godmother nods, and Shrek turns around, ready to return to the swamp with renewed hope and a new purpose.
Chapter 7: The Ghost of Lord Farquaad
As Shrek, Puss in Boots, and Donkey made their way through the ruins of Duloc , a feeling of eeriness filled the air. Shadows seemed to come to life around them, and a bitter chill gripped the air.
“This reminds me of the last time we were here,” said Donkey, shivering. “Only now it’s even spookier.”
—Shut up, Donkey. Focus —Shrek replied, keeping his gaze fixed on the darkness—. Mortimer must be nearby.
Suddenly, a chilling wind blew through the ruins, and a greenish glow illuminated the path. Before them appeared the spectral figure of Lord Farquaad , his face contorted into an expression of disdain.
“Shrek! What are you doing here in my kingdom again?” the ghost said, his voice echoing with a spectral sound.
“ Farquaad !” Shrek exclaimed, taking a step back. “I wasn’t expecting you here. I thought you were… you know, dead.”
“Apparently death is no escape for some,” Farquaad replied , crossing his arms. “I am bound to this place, doomed to wander the dark land of Duloc until someone confronts me.”
Puss in Boots stepped forward, his gaze sharpening. “And what is it that you want, Farquaad ? Why have you appeared now?”
“Oh, I simply enjoy seeing my old enemy in distress,” the ghost replied, his voice mocking. “But I do not come merely to mock. There are more important things at stake. Mortimer has taken what belongs to me.”
“Who cares what belongs to you?” Shrek growled impatiently. “Now we’re here to stop Mortimer and save Far Far Away.”
“Ah, but you cannot do it without me,” Farquaad said , his tone growing more serious. “Mortimer has the power to absorb the souls of the fallen, and he is determined to turn this place into a realm of shadows forever. Your mission is dangerous, ogre.”
Donkey, who was nervous, interrupted, “Wait! Aren’t you the same guy who tried to marry Fiona and almost got her dragged into wedding hell?”
Farquaad turned his head to Donkey, his spectral face showing a mixture of fury and surprise. “Shut up, Donkey! I’m not here to remember my failures! I’m trying to warn you.”
“Warn me about what?” Shrek asked, frowning. “All I want is to save my family and get my home back.”
“Then listen,” Farquaad said , his voice softer. “To defeat Mortimer, you will need the help of those who have fallen before you. Their souls are trapped in this place, and I can help you free them. But in return, you will need to promise me one thing.”
"What thing?" Shrek asked, hesitantly.
—That you will help me find the peace I never had in life. Help me find a way to leave this place.
Shrek looked at his friends, feeling the weight of the decision. Although he knew Farquaad had been a villain in the past, he also understood that he was now a potential ally in his fight against Mortimer.
“Okay, Farquaad . I’ll help you, but don’t make me do anything stupid. I just want to save my family and restore Far Far Away,” Shrek said, signing a tacit agreement with the ghost.
“Deal,” Farquaad replied , smiling with his haunting specter. “Together, we can defeat Mortimer and free Duloc from his darkness.”
And so, as the darkness of Duloc closed in on them, Shrek, Donkey, and Puss in Boots continued their journey, now with the unexpected help of the ghost of Lord Farquaad , on their quest to confront the dark Mortimer and save their world.
Chapter 8: Meeting in the Throne Room
The echo of Shrek's footsteps resonated throughout the grand throne room of Duloc , a place that was once majestic and full of life. Now, the walls were covered in shadows and debris, and the golden decorations were worn and stained. As he walked forward, Shrek could feel the weight of the history that had happened in this place.
“This is even sadder than I remembered,” said Donkey, looking around. “Where are all the parties and music? This place looks like a mausoleum.”
“There’s no time for regrets,” Shrek replied, his gaze fixed straight ahead. “I must find my family.”
Just then, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was Felicia, Shrek’s daughter, now transformed into a young warrior. Her hair, which used to be a vibrant gold, was now filled with dark hues, reflecting the hardships she had faced in this dystopian future.
“Dad!” Felicia exclaimed, running towards him with a mixture of joy and surprise. “I can’t believe you’re back!”
Shrek leaned down and hugged her tightly, feeling a surge of emotions. “Felicia, are you okay? What happened here?”
“We’ve been fighting Mortimer and his shadows, but the situation has become desperate. Far Far Away is in ruins, and many have fallen,” Felicia replied, her eyes filled with determination. “But I’ve gathered a group of warriors ready to fight.”
Donkey stepped forward, looking at Felicia in admiration. “Look who’s talking! The warrior princess who’s going to become the next great heroine. Did you know that your dad was a battle ogre back in the day? He was a real gladiator!”
Felicia smiled at Donkey, but quickly turned serious. “We’re not here to laugh. Mortimer is growing in power, and his army of shadows is about to march on our last stronghold. We must join forces if we are to have any hope.”
“True,” Shrek said, looking at his daughter with pride. “Together, we can face it. But first, I need to know more about this place. Where is Fiona?”
“Fiona is in the swamp, protected by a spell she cast before Duloc fell . She made a sacrifice to keep him safe, but I don’t know how much longer she can hold out. We must act soon,” Felicia replied, frowning. “We also need to recover the Fairy Godmother’s necklace; its power may be the key.”
“I see. Then let’s gather all the warriors we can,” Shrek declared, feeling more determined than ever. “We must protect the swamp and unite the forces of Far Far Away.”
Felicia nodded, her gaze determined. “And if that means facing Mortimer and his army of shadows, we will do it. We will not let them take our home.”
Just then, a mocking laugh echoed in the darkness. It was the ghost of Lord Farquaad , who had been watching silently.
“Well, how touching! A family reunion in such a glorious place as this,” Farquaad said with a wry smile. “But don’t forget that time is not on our side. Mortimer will not wait.”

Stamp ID: Tree ID
Please humor me, and forgive my ignorance, in advance.
I bought a 125yr old house, and found a pitiful, half washed away, large stamp collection in the flooded and moldy basement. I was able to salvage some of it and am enjoying learning about this complex hobby of stamping (I'm don't yet know the term, even) and want to catalog what I have. HOWEVER I am overwhelmed. They all look the same and every time I think Im following along with the identification guides I've seen (type, then denomination, perforation, watermarks, etc.) I wind up at a stamp that isnt even the right color. My knowledge still must be a level behind where those begin. I would really benefit from a guide much like the booklets most of us over age 40 used to have to use to identify trees...
You know-- "Is it Coniferous? Move to page 4" "serrated leaves? Page 9" "parallel growth pattern? page 36"
I need this broken down by the very tiny differences that I can identify or google without mishap ("type" is too broad for me... type? It's red? And has a few circles or frills or hats on the 2? Ugh...), in a defined order, and with as few words as possible. Just a super dumbed down flow chart.
I assumed I'd find an app, web program, something set up like this by now. But nope, not yet. I like charts, bullets, etc., photos with arrows, etc. Not words, not videos. Please point me in the right direction!

2024.10.31 19:03 DTG_Bot This Week in Destiny - 10/31/2024

Source: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/twid_10_31_24
This Week in Destiny, we are just knee deep into the Festival of the Lost celebration. Lots of Headless Ones have been defeated, we've eaten a few metric tons of candy, and have even run a few Grandmaster Nightfalls to maybe help with digestion. We also have an update about you know what. So, how about we jump straight into today's topics?
  • Weapon perk weighting issue update
  • Let's see your spooky pumpkins
  • And your latest fashion statements, too
  • Pick up a new ghostly emblem on Twitch
  • Check out our Headless Ones T-shirt
  • Bungie Foundation Hurricane Campaign update
Let's do this!

About the Perk Weighting Issue

Image Link
The team is continuing to make progress in addressing issues impacting perk RNG. Currently, we are targeting a hotfix for November 5. As this fix will touch code for a game-wide system, we're giving the team a bit more time to fully validate the changes needed to address this issue.
In the long-term, we're looking at a few options not only to thank many of you for your data-crunching, but to get some weapons in your hands that had perk rolls with lower RNG chances than intended. First and foremost, we found a fitting emblem deep within our vaults that almost seemed destined for this. The emblem will represent a moment in time when many throughout the community came together to help us identify this issue. Between your data and our simulations for hundreds of thousands of drops... we're all becoming Conquerors of Infinity.
To claim your emblem, redeem the following code at http://Bungie.net/Redeem: VHT-6A7-3MM
Additionally, we're looking at some opportunities to get fun loot in your hands at a later date. Not only will our RNG systems be fixed up, but you'll have more opportunities to snag some rolls you've been looking for. We're also looking to have a future deep dive article from the team on this, talking through our investigation and about how interesting this issue was to dig through on our side.
Stay tuned for additional details.

Pumpkin Carving

As we announced in last week's TWID, we want you all to put your imaginations to good use during Festival of the Lost. New Builds Needed

So, maybe you are trying to get a ton of rewards as fast as possible going through the hardest difficulty of Haunted Sectors. Or maybe you just want to chill, hit a not-too-hard event activity, and get rewards while listening to music or chatting with friends after work. Both are great moods, both absolutely valid. So, how about we help each other by sharing some builds to go Headless Ones hunting? We'll share the first.
Image Linkimgur
It's a build all about The Last Word, but it's not for PvP but for PvE! After a recent buff, the “never ADS” Hand Cannon is very strong against combatants and allows high damage against tougher foes when paired with the Lucky Pants Exotic Leg Armor. If you put on a Kinetic Loader Mod on your Gauntlets, you can easily empty two whole mags into a boss for very high DPS. It also works really well with all subclasses, but if you want to really feel like a cowboy, use Solar or Prismatic Hunter with Gunpowder Gamble and hip-fire to detonate it for extra yeehaw points! Warlocks and Titans, we got you, too. The Last Word with Chromatic Fire gets explosions and elemental verbs and Titans with Lion Rampant can't possibly miss a single hip-fire shot while in-air.
Hope you enjoyed our idea! The rest of you, use the #BuildOfTheFOTL hashtag on social media with your suggestions and screenshots of your amazing builds so we can pick some of them, add them to next week's TWID, and give the winners the very cool, still quite exclusive Photoionization emblem.

It's A Headless One! On a T-Shirt!

The Headless Ones can be terrifying when they follow you and try to transform you into one of their own. Poor Glint is terrified of them, but Immaru thinks they are so metal they deserve their own T-shirt. After all, T-shirts are missing the head you put in yourself when wearing them, so it's very, uh, thematically fitting according to Eido. So, behold, our new Festival of the Lost Bungie Rewards T-shirt!

Bungie Foundation Hurricane Campaign Update

Our Hurricane relief campaign may be ending, but for many across the Southeast U.S. that were impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, this is just the beginning of a long journey of recovery. Which is what makes the work of our humanitarian partners, Team Rubicon and Direct Relief, even more crucial, as they are in this for the long term. When attention undoubtedly fades from these devastated communities, they will still be there, doing the hard work, day in and day out, to make today a bit better than yesterday. That work is made possible in part by YOU and your support. The Destiny community has raised more than $350,000 throughout this campaign, funds that will go directly to our partner organizations to continue driving positive change for communities in need.
Donations for the Through the Storm emblem close tonight at 11:59PM PT and our Hurricane relief t-shirt will be available until 11/3/2024. Get yours while you can and support this amazing cause!

We'll be closing out our Hurricane campaign in style today on Twitch, with a Halloween edition of our Bungie Bounty for Good, benefiting Team Rubicon and Direct Relief. The stream starts at 10 AM PT, which means we are LIVE right now at the time of publishing. Oh, and Twitch Drops are enabled! Watch for 90 minutes to earn the Nature of Truth emblem. Known Issues

  • Bungie Names cannot be changed. We hope to fix this as quickly as possible.
  • The Loadout and Mod screens in the character screen are very difficult to access. If the cursor is over a weapon or armor, they can be accessed.
  • Menus and subscreens used to change pages no longer allow inputs from a D-Pad or arrow keys.
  • The Director can no longer be accessed from inside the Character screen.
  • The health bar colors of major enemies has been altered, making it hard to distinguish between them and minor enemy health bar colors.
  • Sometimes the final boss in Vesper‚Äôs Host doesn't spawn and players are forced to wipe for the encounter to start.
  • A soft lock can occur in Vesper‚Äôs Host when not all servitors reform with the boss after DPS ends, and the remaining servitors are inconsistent between players.
  • We're investigating reports where the Tonic Brewing Guide quest isn't updating when creating tonics. ##Nice Costume, Crow

We all love Cayde, including our new Hunter Vanguard Crow, even if... well, you know. Kill your idols, I guess? Also, go check the #DestinyTober24 hashtag for a lot more incredible art.

Dear, beautiful Titan. We know you are fearless; we know you are absolutely capable of finishing Vesper's Host solo and flawlessly; and we are 100% rooting for you. But for the love of the Traveler, may we suggest you use Lion Rampant Exotic to assist you during the jumping sections of the dungeon?

And we are done for today. Hope everyone is having a terrific, or terrifying, time fighting Headless One and earning some new weapons. Yes, we know... but we are fixing the perk-weighting issue next Tuesday and there's two more weeks of Festival of the Lost to get the rolls you are aiming for while completing the Event Card. Just go at your own pace and don't forget about getting the Superblack shader if you don't have it already.
So, back into those Haunted Lost Sectors!

2024.10.31 19:00 Bitter_Decision_4960 The unexplored trench [Part 6]

Part 5.
The explosions erupted above, tearing through the water with a violence that defied belief. We could see the ripple of light, feel the shockwaves in the water. But the Abyssal Behemoth held us firmly, shielding us from the worst of the assault.
The silence stretched, and finally, after what felt like hours, the Abyssal Behemoth loosened its grip, releasing us from its mouth. Our submersible drifted downward, the lights flickering faintly, the metallic groans of the hull a haunting reminder of how close we had come to being its prey. Slowly, it nudged us upward, pushing us out of its domain, as though sparing us… for now.
The moment we surfaced, ANEX operatives were on us. Their faces were masked with indifference, moving with the well-oiled efficiency of a machine that felt nothing and remembered everything. It felt like being arrested rather than retrieved. We were shuffled into a nondescript, steel-gray ANEX vessel anchored nearby, where one of their agents intercepted me in the hallway. “Debrief in ten minutes,” they said, their eyes barely meeting mine before they moved on.
The harsh lights and clinical scent reminded me more of a lab than a briefing room. We were on edge, silently fuming. I could feel Dr. Miles’s anger rolling off him like static. His jaw clenched so tight it could’ve shattered teeth, his hand in a white-knuckled fist that had been twitching since we surfaced. Tension radiated through the whole team. I kept my own expression neutral, fingers brushing the sliver of tissue tucked in my jacket’s inner pocket.
The specimen was small, hardly more than a translucent scrap, but it pulsed with some kind of energy I couldn’t identify. I had seen it, stuck to a part of the submersible and I’d managed to secure it without the ANEX operatives noticing. A piece of the abyss, nestled secretly against my chest.
We filed into the room where Colonel Gaines waited, his presence as cold and immovable as iron. He didn’t flinch at our entrance, nor at the scorching glare Miles leveled at him as he approached. But Gaines must’ve known it was coming; before we even had the chance to sit down, Miles lunged forward, his fist connecting with the colonel’s jaw in one swift, angry motion.
"How dare you use us as bait?" Miles spat, voice barely restrained. "We weren’t supposed to be here to get eaten or blown to bits!"
The guards rushed forward, but Gaines waved them off, lifting himself slowly with a calculated sigh. A bruise darkened his jaw, but he didn’t appear fazed. His stare was unnervingly calm, scanning each of us with chilling efficiency.
“Are you finished?” His voice was low, threatening in its stillness. “You are here because you are needed. This isn’t about your lives; it’s about something much bigger. The Behemoth you encountered represents a threat so vast you couldn’t possibly understand it yet. ANEX has dedicated resources, lives, and unimaginable technology to contain entities like this—entities that would annihilate our world without a second thought.”
He leaned forward, letting his words sink in. "You’re scientists, and I don’t expect you to trust ANEX. But your work is critical to our understanding of these anomalies and how to contain them. And yes, the sponsors funding your expedition are heavily involved with us. They believe in protecting the human race, whether you agree with their methods or not.”
It took everything I had not to argue back, but I swallowed my anger for now, knowing I still had that piece of tissue tucked safely away. After all, it could be the key to understanding this thing we’d barely survived.
The days since our return to the surface felt like a fever dream, every moment heavy with an inexplicable tension. None of us spoke much; our words seemed brittle under the weight of the reality we’d come face-to-face with below. Emily threw herself into her data, combing through notes and readings as if they held the answers. Dr. Miles, meanwhile, could barely contain his anger, the veins at his temples constantly throbbing, his fists clenched with fury.
It was worse at night. The steady hum of machinery aboard the ANEX vessel was our only company, reminding us that we were now part of something monstrous, something far beyond us. Each of us struggled to make sense of why we had been pulled back down again, why ANEX insisted on putting us in the path of a creature they couldn’t begin to understand. Gaines’s assurances that we were "needed" felt like hollow echoes. What need could we serve to an entity as vast and incomprehensible as the Abyssal Behemoth?
I hadn’t told the others about the tissue sample. Each night, I inspected it in secret, my heart hammering as I tried to unravel its mysteries. It wasn’t just tissue. It was something… anomalous, something that seemed to absorb light and energy, feeding off the air like a living, breathing wound. The more I studied it, the more certain I became that this creature wasn’t from our world. It was a shard of something that defied every boundary we knew.
The orders to descend again came swiftly. No explanation, no briefing—just the hard, unsympathetic directive from Colonel Gaines. This time, though, something gnawed at the edges of my mind as we prepared for the dive. It wasn’t fear, not exactly; it was something much colder. A sense of inevitability.
Emily took the controls again, her hands shaking as she powered up the submersible. The flickering light illuminated our faces in harsh relief, each of us cast in shadow. We avoided each other’s eyes, each lost in our own battle with the dread that coiled around us like an invisible snake.
We began our descent, plunging once more into the cold, dark depths. The light faded rapidly, swallowed by the weight of the ocean. Outside, shadowy figures drifted past—fish and jellies, barely discernible forms moving sluggishly in the void. The deep felt different this time, somehow thicker, as though the very water was aware of us, pressing in on all sides.
The sensors picked up faint energy readings, much like before, but they were erratic, pulsing in strange, rhythmic patterns. There was an electricity in the air—or what passed for air down here—a crackling sense of something lurking just beyond our senses. I felt a tingling along my skin, the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. Something was waiting for us.
We approached the ocean floor, the beams from our floodlights illuminating patches of sand and skeletal remains scattered across the abyss. Shadows of old wreckage rose up around us, their jagged edges like teeth in the dark. The scene was eerily silent, devoid of movement.
And then we saw them: the eyes.
Two colossal orbs, glowing faintly in the darkness, hovering at the edge of our light’s reach. They were the Abyssal Behemoth’s eyes, but this time they weren’t merely watching. They pulsed with an intensity I hadn’t seen before, flickering with a light that seemed alive. As we drifted closer, I saw within them strange cosmic vistas—a swirl of galaxies, black holes collapsing in on themselves, supernovae exploding in distant parts of the universe. These weren’t just eyes. They were windows to other dimensions, other realms. And in that light, I saw something I hadn’t before: fear.
Emily gasped, her grip on the controls faltering. “Dr. Ellison… do you see that?”
I nodded, unable to look away. The Behemoth’s eyes were alive with an alien fury, a rage that seemed to shake the very water around us. But underneath that rage, there was something else—a primal, instinctual dread. It wasn’t looking at us; it was looking beyond us, past us, into a darkness that even it seemed to fear.
As we turned to face where the behemoth was looking, we saw a cold light ahead of us growing larger and more defined, spreading like a blight against the endless dark. It was as if the ocean itself recoiled from the approaching presence, its light casting eerie shadows that distorted reality, as though rejecting the very concept of solidity. The thing that emerged wasn’t like the Behemoth. It wasn’t alive in the way we understood. It was a grotesque, shifting form, more a wound in the fabric of existence than a creature. Its edges bled into the water around it, warping space with strange, jagged limbs that seemed to phase in and out of sight.
The entity’s surface was a sickly, translucent membrane, riddled with pulsating black veins that seethed beneath its skin, pumping some viscous liquid that bubbled and frothed. Each pulse of those veins was like a heartbeat, slow and irregular, reminding us of something that shouldn’t be. And within that translucent form, shifting shadows swirled, giving fleeting glimpses of eyes—thousands of them, each blinking in unison before vanishing into the murk of its body. It was like staring into an infinite pit of suffering, a glimpse of something so ancient and unfeeling that it defied even the concept of empathy.
It drifted toward the Behemoth with an unnatural grace, extending one of its warped limbs, which seemed to bend in multiple dimensions, folding back on itself as if it were breaking through space. The limb itself writhed, covered in countless tiny tendrils tipped with glistening barbs. These barbs flashed in and out of existence, their unnatural glow sending icy shivers down our spines. The closer it came, the more the air in the sub felt thick and heavy, as if we were being pulled into some dreadful, inescapable current. This thing was not of our world. It was a cosmic horror that had somehow found its way into our reality.
The Abyssal Behemoth braced itself, curling its massive form protectively, almost as though shielding us from this monstrosity. Its colossal eyes fixed on the intruder, and we saw the galaxies within them churning with raw, chaotic energy—supernovas exploding, stars collapsing into singularities, all in the span of seconds. In those eyes was a fury that transcended mortal anger, a cosmic wrath that only a guardian of the ancient oceans could embody. The Behemoth wasn’t just preparing to fight; it was preparing to annihilate.
Then, with a silent roar that seemed to vibrate through the very fabric of the water, the Behemoth launched itself at the entity, the entire ocean seeming to recoil from the impact. The water around us buckled as a shockwave rippled outward, rattling the submersible. The two beings collided with a force so powerful it was as if the sea itself had torn open, each releasing energy that ignited the water in bursts of bioluminescent colors.
The entity responded with a scream—a soundless, mind-piercing wail that drilled into our skulls, sending waves of nausea and terror through us. The sickly light it emitted flared as it lashed out with a limb, striking the Behemoth’s side. Where it touched, the Behemoth’s skin blistered and blackened, the wound bubbling as though corroded by the entity’s very essence. It was a creature of entropy, a force that sought to consume and unravel all it encountered.
But the Behemoth fought back with equal ferocity. It swung its colossal tail, the galaxies in its eyes blazing brighter as it channeled an otherworldly energy, ripping through the entity’s translucent form. A deep, guttural sound echoed through the water as the entity recoiled, splitting apart at the site of the strike. For a moment, it seemed almost to vanish, retreating into the darkness, only for its scattered pieces to reform, each chunk crawling back to the core in sick, writhing motions. The horror was relentless—it would not retreat.
More of the entity’s limbs flailed toward the Behemoth, each movement unpredictable, each strike an attempt to pierce, bind, or corrupt the creature that stood against it. The Behemoth’s massive body twisted and undulated, dodging most of the strikes, though each glancing blow left dark, festering marks. This wasn’t just a battle; it was a cosmic clash of wills, a confrontation of fundamental forces. One, the Abyssal Behemoth, was a sentinel, a protector tied to our world’s deepest waters. The other, an interloper from realms of darkness that sought to consume, corrupt, and eradicate.
Then came a moment of stillness. The entity’s limbs retracted, the eyes within it blinking in unison, focusing all at once on the Behemoth. The Behemoth’s eyes narrowed, the galaxies within them swirling faster, reaching a blinding brightness. It let out a rumble that seemed almost like a warning. The entity’s limbs pulsed, splitting into smaller, thread-like tendrils, each moving independently, preparing for a final strike.
The entity surged forward in one swift motion, its tendrils fanning out to form a maw—a void of darkness so complete that it seemed to devour even the faint light of the deep. It lunged, trying to engulf the Behemoth, its form stretching like an endless, writhing black hole. But just as it closed in, the Behemoth’s eyes flared, a supernova blazing within each. With a roar that shook the ocean floor, the Behemoth thrust its massive body upward, its colossal jaws snapping shut around the heart of the entity.
There was a blinding flash, a detonation of light that sent us reeling back in the sub, shielding our eyes. When we looked again, the entity’s form had begun to dissolve, its limbs flailing in the water, disintegrating into wisps of dark, toxic smoke. The Behemoth held firm, its jaws clamped down on the heart of the creature, crushing it with a slow, determined finality. Its eyes blazed as it consumed the last vestiges of the intruder, devouring the darkness in a display of raw, primal power.
The remnants of the entity faded, its sickly glow dimming until only darkness remained. The Behemoth lingered for a moment, its gaze turning to us. We were frozen, caught between awe and terror, our hearts pounding as we realized we had just witnessed a battle that transcended our understanding—a clash not of monsters but of forces beyond the realm of human comprehension.
In that gaze, we saw galaxies settle, stars cooling as the chaos within the Behemoth’s eyes calmed. It had defended the oceans, preserved its vigil over the abyss, but there was a tiredness in its gaze—a weariness that came from eons of this cosmic guardianship. Then, with a slow, almost reluctant movement, the Behemoth drifted back into the shadows, its colossal form vanishing into the depths, leaving us suspended in a silence that felt as vast and eternal as the void.
And in that silence, a single thought echoed in our minds, cold and unyielding: there were horrors in this world, and beyond it, that were never meant to be seen by human eyes.

2024.10.31 18:56 Bitter_Decision_4960 the Abyssal Behemoth Pt. 6

2024.10.31 18:49 Hiko428 Questions about applying for re-entry permit

This August, I entered the U.S. for the first time with a family-sponsored immigrant visa, but I need to go back to my home country to finish my studies, so I left the U.S. I plan to return to the U.S. during my holidays next year to apply for a re-entry permit. Due to the limited length of stay, I want to write a letter requesting to reuse my previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics.
1. Are the documents I need to provide:
i) The copy of the front and back of green card
ii) The copy of passport identity page
iii) Certificate of enrollment
iv) Request letter
Do I need to provide two identical color passport-style photographs?
2. If I want to pay by check, do I write a check for $630? Are there any other fees that need to be paid?
3. If my family member wants to apply, do I need to mail them in two separate envelopes?
Thank you!!! üôáüôáüôá
